Welcome to the rebellion. Neuron Rebellion, however, is actually the story of two rebellions.
Virtually bedridden for over 18 months with a bizarre movement disorder, Pat Mayer is now on the slow road to recovery. (Thank you, Mayo Clinic!) The problem was that the muscles throughout Pat’s body seemed to do what they wanted, when they wanted and Pat could do little but stay in bed. But after a breakthrough, she now works daily retraining her brain to work properly, to quell those pesky rebellious Neurons.
Okay, so that’s not exactly how the doctors described it, but the metaphor works for us. A few months before her time at the Mayo, Pat began hand-sewing odd little creatures, just to pass the time when she is stuck in bed. And then it dawned on us, these whimsical little beasties are the manifestation of what’s happening in Pat’s brain. They’re the physical representation of the whacky brain cell firings she’s battling.
Well they have to go, that’s all there is to it – that, and they are now filling the bedroom. So, we sell them and use the proceeds to pay the medical bills. (Mayo’s great, but not free.) Ha! Who has the last laugh now, Neurons! Who’s “rebelling” now!
Each Neuron is a one-of-a-kind, hand-made original. They are made of new and recycled materials. They are NOT child-safe. Neurons are Art Dolls and are not intended for children. Just to be clear, in case you missed the point…Neurons are NOT child-safe.
So browse the site, read more about Pat’s story, maybe even buy some Neurons and help “the cause”. Vive la resistance!
