The Chess Team
In March of this year my sister sent me an email about a most unusual opportunity. There was this cool store that was offering some of their marvelous furniture in exchange for artistic or creative weirdness. Figuring that I had artistic and creative weirdness to offer, I threw my hat in a ring along with hundreds of other creative and inventive people in order to win a swap from Blu Dot for these marvelous dinning room chairs.
one would ever spend that much on socks, however, here was my chance to do something outlandish and maybe be able to help with some of the needs of the household at the same time. Hence, I offered a Chess Set of Brain Cells in exchange for some awesome dinning room chairs (ours are falling apart and my hubby’s bum is uncomfortable in them).
I thought -if they accepted it- they would be the generous ones in the agreement, and also that the amazing things people were offering in swap were much better than my idea, so I didn’t expect much. I mean how do you compete with a stuffed baby goat, a Luchador P-A-R-T-Y!, or on a more serious note, 100 yarn bombs!? Much to my surprise, they accepted my swap, and said I was being too generous and would be happy to accept only half of the set in trade for the awesome dinning room chairs!
So, here, without further ado, is the Neuron Chess Team for Blu Dot Swap!
And a big hug and “Thank you!” to Blu Dot!
Here are the individual Neuron Players and their Bios:

There really are eight pawns on the team, I have been completely frustrated in my attempts to document them…yet. For reasons that I have not been able to discern, I have been unable to photograph all eight to this point. At least two of them “disappear” during the process and don’t resurface until camera, light box and the rest have been put away. Also, we are preparing to have jackhammers in the “studio” (aka: basement) this week and so they are happily avoiding another attempt on my part of prove the existence of the little buggers! I haven’t given up yet, just waylaid by circumstances. So look for further additions to the team when the house can be put back together and I can get the frigging things to sit still! (Sorry for the language, I’m just a bit frustrated.)
It has also not escaped my notice that I suck at using WordPress and so have spent an embarrassing amount of hours just trying to get this page made. My apologies, Blu Dot…you deserve better.
